Parkway Central Library

This month:
Sound Basics and What You NEED to Know About Your Room Acoustics
Part 1 (Beginner): We will discuss the basics of what sound is and how it gets from your instrument all the way into your computer. This may seem a little simple but trust me...it will help your mixes! For example, we'll talk about how to make things sound like they're far away in your mix vs. close up and in your face.
Part 2 (Intermediate): We will discuss room acoustics basics. What do you NEED to know about room acoustics? What are the minimal things you can do in your room to make for a better mixing space
Part 3 (Advanced...if time allows): I will review a very powerful (and free) software called Room EQ Wizard which you can use to test the acoustics of your room. I recently did this in my home studio and found it to be a powerful exercise.
