 (a) French Railway Wheel-1931. Rubber on the Rails: New type wheel for French railway cars, equipped with pneumatic tires and providing maximum of comfort and luxury in travel. M. RAoul Dautry, Director of the French State Railways and Vice President of the French Steamship Line, acclaims this equipment on the new light cars as a forward step in transportaion and a means toward the solution of many of its problems.  4'' x 10''

(b) French All-Rail Bus-1931. Construction of the new All-Rail Bus on French System: This passenger vehicle consists of a cabin (c) for travelers; it is 6.40 meters in length and 2.46 meters wide, with 24 seats and a central corridor. The cabin is provided with two storage places for baggage (A and B), in the front and rear, offering a total utilizable space of 6 square meters capable of holding 360 kilograms of baggage. In front, "D" is a cabin containing the motor and steering gear; directly behind there is an intervening space proivded with flexible bellows (E) to cut off vibrations from the passenger cabin. The bus rests on two bogies, one motor with three wheel bases in the front; the other with two wheel bases in the rear. Special shock absorbers control oscillations of the body. 1931. 4''x10''
