Radio Helps Doc Make Rounds
Mt. Vernon, Ill.- Dr. Harry G. Thompson is using radio in his medical practice. By means of two-way communications between his car and his FCC-approved private radio station at home, Dr. Thompson can talk to his wife when he's out 30 miles on a call. Mrs. Thompson, a licensed operator, keeps him informed of calls to make in the vicinity of his rural visit, thus eliminating needless travel for this country doctor. Here he is shown talking to his wife while sitting in his car. October, 21st, 1947.
