Toys Cars. "Hot-Rodder"
San Francisco: Bobby Jean Fix, 3 1/2, sits in the driver's seat of her "hot-rod," which her father made for her from a 3/4 horsepower, one-cylinder gasoline engine, an old lawnmower and some pieces of angle iron. Mr. Fix, a mechanic, worked on the tiny auto for six months, and built it at a cost of $60. It operates for 16 hours on a half gallon of gasoline, and it kept in low gear, so that Bobby Jean cannot go faster than 6 miles an hour.
