Safari with the "New Look"

Voi, Tanganyika...Progress has taken a mighty stride in the exploration business since the days when every pound of equipment had to be toted by human beasts of burden-native bearers. Here you see motor safari of the Gatti-Hallicrafters expedition to the mountains of the moon on the march. The safari was photographed as it drove along an almost perfectly straight road between Voi an dMoshi, Tanganykia, en route to Mount Kilimanjaro, first big objective of the expedition. March, 12th, 1948.
