Indianapolis, Indiana 1987--The Goodyear Eagle radial racing tire is making its Indiana polis debut May 24, but 1987 marks the 14th consecutive year that Goodyear high-performance street radials have been on the Indy 500 pace car. Carroll Shelby, noted racing and performance car designer, stands alongside the Chrysler LeBaron convertible pace car he will drive this year, while Duane Sweeney, chief starter for the race, looks down from the flagman's tower.
