Instrument panels for 1971 full size Buicks have been designed to permit servicing of the components from a sitting position in the driver's seat. Removal of all the switches, bulbs, instruments and the radio now requires about two hours of time, where formerly the same job required 13.4 hours on the Riviera and 5.4 hours on the Electra and LeSabre.
