With a couple of 17-inch-wide Goodyear racing tires in tow, a young tractor driver signals he is ready for the June 30 running of the Schaefer 500 -- the final 1974 race in USAC's rich 500-mile "Triple Crown" series -- at Pocono International Raceway, Long Pond, Pa. Defending champion A.J. Foyt faces stiff competition as Indy 500 winner Johnny Rutherford and Ontario 500 champ Bobby Unser battle to make it two out of three victories in the series.
