One of the most exciting cars in super stock competition in 1968 is this Mustang powered by a high performance 428-cubic-inch engine known as the Cobra Jet. In the hands of some of the sports' biggest names - such as Don Nicholson -- the 428 Mustnag was originally placed in SS/F class and later reassigned to SS/E class in NHRA competition. As modified for the drag strip, the Cobra Jet-powered Mustang has either a heavy-duty, four-speed manual or automatic transmission; a 3.89 axle ratio; manual drum brakes, and a functional hood scoop.
