Certain to be outstanding contenders in SS/C and SS/D competition this year are these 1967 Fairlanes powered by a 427-cubic-inch wedge engine. The eight-barrel 427s of Ed Terry (top) and Bill Ireland (center) fall into SS/C according to 1968 NHRA rules. Don McCain’s record-holding four-barrel Fairlane competes in SS/D. All three men are perennial contenders in their respective NHRA point divisions.
