GIRL RECORD BREAKER—Paula Murphy, internationally known as “Miss STP”, is shown with Bill France, retired NASCAR president, at finish of her 1971 record run in which she captured world’s closed speed mark for women with a lap at 171.499 mph. She will try to break her own record May 1 at Talladega, Ala. in an STP-Dodge, prepared by Richard Petty’s crew, after a week of coaching by Petty.
