DELIVERS THE MAIL – AM General Corporation, subsidiary of American Motors, is putting the postman on wheels in many urban areas across the country. More than 40,000 of these quarter-ton postal delivery vehicles have been built in South Bend, Indiana by AM General, which soon will also be producing a larger half-ton delivery vehicle for the U.S. Postal Service. Both units are powered by American Motors’ 232-cubic-inch six-cylinder engines.
