Michael Graves was instrumental in the emergence of postmodernism in the mid-1970s. His classic and colorful buildings are intended to make contemporary architecture more meaningful and accessible, referring to past tradition while responding to contemporary surroundings. In 1960 as a recipient of the prestigious Prix de Rome, Graves traveled throughout Europe and the Levant, studying and recording the masterworks of architecture. His new book collects the stunning artwork he produced during his trip.
