Author Talk: Rich Westcott
Baseball historian Rich Westcott will present and autograph his new book Biz Mackey, a Giant Behind the Plate, the first biography of arguably the greatest catcher in the Negro Leagues. Mackey, who spent a third of his career in Philadelphia, also mentored famed catcher Roy Campanella and had an unlikely role in the story of baseball's development in Japan. Rich Westcott, the author of 25 previous books, is a leading authority on Philadelphia baseball.
This program is co-sponsored by Friends in the City (FitC) and the Philadelphia City Institute Library. It will be held in the meeting room on the library’s lower level and we regret there is no elevator.
