Author Talk: Rich Westcott

Mon, May 14, 2018 6:30 P.M.
Cost: FREE

Baseball historian Rich Westcott will present and autograph his new book Biz Mackey, a Giant Behind the Plate, the first biography of arguably the greatest catcher in the Negro Leagues. Mackey, who spent a third of his career in Philadelphia, also mentored famed catcher Roy Campanella and had an unlikely role in the story of baseball's development in Japan. Rich Westcott, the author of 25 previous books, is a leading authority on Philadelphia baseball.

This program is co-sponsored by Friends in the City (FitC) and the Philadelphia City Institute Library. It will be held in the meeting room on the library’s lower level and we regret there is no elevator.

The views expressed by the authors and moderators are strictly their own and do not represent the opinions of the Free Library of Philadelphia or its employees.
