School Choices Demystified for Parents at the Free Library

Parents can glean priceless information on how to choose a school for their children at the Central Library, 1901 Vine Street, on Thursday, October 28, at 12 p.m.

Dr. Bryan C. Hassel, co-author of Picky Parent Guide: choose Your Child's School with Confidence, the Elementary Years (K-6). Written with his wife, Emily Ayscue Hassel, the book gives clear steps to follow to make the process of school choice less overwhelming.

Hassel is a Rhodes Scholar and a national expert on school choice. The workshop is appropriate for parents of toddler through teens, and covers both public and private school choice. It will include tips from Hassel's forthcoming book, Picky Parent Guide for Middle and High School.

This workshop is especially beneficial for Philadelphians faced with school choices that include standard public schools, magnate schools, charter schools, and private institutions.
