United States Patent and Trademark Office Presents Public Program at the Free Library of Philadelphia

April 16, 2012 – Calling all inventors, entrepreneurs, educators, and legal professionals! The Free Library’s Business Science and Industry Department at Parkway Central Library is hosting a free, one day seminar for those interested in learning how to search patents and trademarks. The program, which will also cover other aspects of intellectual property matters, will take place on Wednesday, May 16 from 9:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. in the Montgomery Auditorium.

This special event includes expert information from speakers from the United States Patent and Trademark Office located in Alexandria, Va. There will also be a panel discussion with local resources which include the following:

Patricia A. Wenger: A registered Attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Wenger focuses on obtaining, defending and maintaining patents, trademarks and copyrights for her clients as well as other issues of intellectual property law and licensing.

Brett Strouss: Strouss is Past President of The American Society of Inventors and the President of his own company, Visionary Tech, Inc. (www.visionarytech.com), which was formed to develop new products and help with growing innovation in various organizations.

M. Therese Flaherty, PhD: Director of the Wharton Small Business Development Center, Dr. Flaherty has taught Strategic Marketing and Operations Management in the Wharton School's MBA program since 1993 after a career of research and teaching at the Harvard Business School and Stanford University.
