LOVETT MEMORIAL LIBRARY TO HOST OUTDOOR MOVIE SCREENINGS
Summer lineup of films includes the wizard of oz, ghostbusters, and the muppets
Philadelphia, June 14, 2012— The Free Library of Philadelphia’s Lovett Memorial Library is getting into the summer spirit with its second annual “Moonlight Movies in Mt. Airy” program. The Library, which co-hosts the program with Mt. Airy USA and the Trolley Car Diner, will project eight movies—in addition to the opening ceremonies of the 2012 Olympic Games in London—on a giant screen in their park for film buffs, families, and neighbors to enjoy free of charge.
The line-up of this year’s family-friendly series is as follows:
• June 22: The Princess Bride
• June 29: The Wizard of Oz
• July 6: Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
• July 13: To Kill A Mockingbird
• July 20: The Muppets
• July 27: 2012 Olympic Games Opening Ceremonies (subject to technical abilities)
• August 3: West Side Story
• August 10: Up
• August 17: Ghostbusters
“Our Lovett Memorial Library had a tremendously positive community response to their film series last summer, and I’m delighted they’re offering it again,” said Siobhan A. Reardon, President and Director of the Free Library. “As the Free Library of Imagination, we love to host a variety of programs that are just pure fun for our customers, and that provide a space for families and neighbors to connect. And what better way to spend a Friday night than at the Free Library of Philadelphia?”
Seating in the Lovett Memorial Park (directly beside the Library) opens at 8:00 p.m. and movies begin at 8:30. Attendees should bring blankets and/or chairs for seating. For more information, please call Mt. Airy USA at 215-844-6201.
