Free Library and Brûlée Catering Host Rooftop Beer Garden at the Parkway Central Library

The popular spring beer garden series returns in May

PHILADELPHIA, May 14, 2018—The Free Library of Philadelphia’s Parkway Central Library, in collaboration with Brûlée Catering, will host Brews & Views, a spring beer garden series held on the Parkway Central Library’s rooftop terrace. Attendees can enjoy drinks and take in spectacular views of the city on May 21 through 23 and May 28 through 30. Each beer garden will be open from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Attendees will also have an opportunity to see the library’s exhibition At These Crossroads in the West Gallery on view until 9:00 p.m. every evening. It will be a great opportunity, as well, for visitors to explore the Reimagined Parkway Central spaces, which opened in April, including The Robert and Eileen Kennedy Heim Center for Cultural and Civic Engagement and the new Business Resource and Innovation Center.

The beer garden is free to enter and no advance registration is required. All are welcome; guests must be 21 and up to purchase and consume alcohol. Local craft beers, wine, and refreshing cocktails will be available for purchase, along with a menu of made-to-order snacks from Brûlée’s chefs, including seasonal favorites.

Kelley Maddox, Brûlée Catering’s Director of Business Development and Sales, has been part of the Brews & Views beer garden series from the beginning and works closely with library staff on arranging the details.

“We are thrilled to partner with the Free Library of Philadelphia for the third year in a row on Brews & Views beer gardens! The unique setting of the Skyline Room and rooftop allows Philadelphians and visitors to experience one of the city’s landmark locations.  As the exclusive caterer for the venue, Brûlée is able to give guests a taste of what to expect for their celebrations,” Maddox said.
