Springing Into Your Free Library

By Kate C. RSS Mon, May 13, 2019

If you follow us here on the blog or on social media, you may be familiar with our new #MyFreeLibrary campaign. With 54 neighborhood library locations across the city and over 30,000 events and programs going on each year in every nook and cranny across Philadelphia, it just makes sense to us that no two Free Library experiences would look the same.

For some, the library is a place to drop in and borrow books. For others, it’s a quiet place to use a computer. And still others log on from home to watch the classics on Kanopy. And that’s not even the half of it! So we started the #MyFreeLibrary campaign to try to identify the great stories of library-loving Philadelphians and what the library means to them – how they use our services, what they think of when they think of us, and what their library experience looks like.

We started sharing the stories earlier in April during National Library Week and we’ll keep it going all spring (and summer) long, but soon you’ll also start to see little reminders around the city of how you can use the Free Library. Because let’s be honest: it’s hard to keep track of it all! And we hope you come away with new ideas for using your library card!

So whether you attend cooking classes, use the library to access The New York Times, use our job seeker resources for employment and career opportunities, or bring your little one to a storytime in your neighborhood, we’re here for you!

Share your Free Library story by tagging us on social media and using the #MyFreeLibrary hashtag.
