Summer Camp Challenge is Back!

By Emily S. RSS Thu, March 17, 2022

It’s that wonderful time of year again, when the birds begin to sing and educators, caregivers, and camp leaders start to wonder: what is this summer going to hold? If you’ll be working with Philadelphia kids at an existing summer camp program, we invite you to join the Free Library’s Summer Camp Challenge!

All it takes is 60 minutes of literacy each day.

When you register your existing summer camp program, you’ll receive the Camp Challenge Toolkit filled with a selection of diverse books for read aloud and independent reading, as well as literacy games, activity ideas, and everything you need to make it work. The Free Library will also provide staff training and on-going program support.

Make the commitment to add 60 minutes of literacy to your camp day, and help Philadelphia kids become strong readers and learners for life.

Register online by April 30, 2022. Space is limited. Sign up today! Limited scholarships are available. To inquire, email
