For Little Learners
- Explore Read, Baby, Read and even more storytimes and programs for babies and toddlers at your neighborhood libraries. It’s never too early to read to your little ones!
- Check out these local Philly ABCs for a fun way to practice getting to know letters and phonics at home.
- Try Tumble Books for animated talking picture books, or BookFlix for video read-alouds that pair stories with learning.
- Get ready for your little one’s first day of school with some know-how from Conquering Kindergarten.
- Visit Read by 4th online to find shareable resources for educators and families, including their Kindergarten Readiness Checklist.

Back to School for Kids and Teens
- Visit philasd.org for information from the Philadelphia School District regarding registration, Chromebook maintenance, immunizations, schedule updates, and more.
- LEAP provides drop-in homework help and literacy enrichment activities after school. Check with your neighborhood library to learn more.
- Learning Express Library offers online test prep and career skills to anyone with a library card.
- Homework Help Online from Tutor.com provides online sessions with a live tutor for help with homework, essays, and test prep for grades K-12. A library card is required.
- Gale Research Databases offer kid-friendly research content for elementary, middle, and high school students. If you’re looking for articles, images, or videos, this is the place to begin.
- World Book Online is a popular encyclopedia with content for different age ranges and Spanish speakers.
- Try Overdrive Kids to find ebooks and audiobooks just for young readers.
- Kanopy is back! Need some time to unwind when the homework is done? Find acclaimed movies, documentaries, and kids’ films here for free.
Adult Learners
- If you’re ready to learn or considering heading back to school, the Languages and Learning Center is a great place to start. Adult learners can access basic literacy workshops, language learning opportunities, job search assistance, test prep, and more right here at the Free Library.
- Explore our Digital Media Portal, where you’ll find free online portals to music, ebooks, audiobooks, magazines, podcasts, and more. We also feature OverDrive en español.
- Check our events calendar regularly to keep up to date on programming for all ages.
Fall Into Reading Online (All Ages)
- Did you know that our Online Reading Challenge is year-round? Fall Into Reading has just begun! Log books or minutes read, write book reviews, and compete to earn badges as you go. Sign up online to join in the all-ages fun.
