Parkway Central Tourist Information

By Michelle S. RSS Thu, August 5, 2010

As the Free Library of Exploration, we’re proud to be a place where people come to seek out information, from complex research inquiries to “Where’s a good place to eat around here?” To support us in answering those tourism-related questions, we’re excited to announce our new partnership with the Independence Visitor Center Corporation! On Thursday, August 5, the Parkway Central Library will become an official satellite branch of the IVCC. Whether you’re visiting the city yourself, hosting visitors from out of town, or simply curious about the many attractions in Philadelphia’s Parkway Museums District, take a moment to stop by our Parkway Central Tourist Information center in the lobby to chat with an IVCC staff member or one of our dedicated librarians about this great corner of town and the fantastic resources it has to offer. And while you’re here, you can pick up a guest library card to access our free Wi-Fi and do a little research of your own.

For dinning I recommend a vist to the shops at Liberty PLace (17th and Market) one street past the comcast center. There is a food court with numerous choices and the prices are reasonable for center city food. A few blocks south from here is Rittenhouse Square park. There is a bookstore across the street from the park as well. Also consider taking the city hall tour if time alows.
