During the fall and winter months, the Free Library of Philadelphia will offer its patrons extended service four evenings a week. Some branches will operate on a Monday through Friday schedule, closing on Saturday, while others will operate on a Monday through Thursday schedule, closing on Friday to offer service on Saturday. Each branch will offer two evenings of service, on either Monday and Wednesday, or Tuesday and Thursday. The Regional Libraries will offer service Tuesday through Saturday with the Northeast Regional Library offering Sunday service as well.
