Beginning January 1, 2011, the prices you pay for electricity will be based on electric market pricing, after having been capped for more than 10 years, meaning that the cost of gas and electricity will increase in the new year.
Local energy provider PECO has recently launched a Smart Ideas suite of energy saving programs designed to help offset this price increase. From offering discounted compact flourescent lightbulbs to rebates for purchasing qualified energy-efficient appliances and products, Smart Ideas will help PECO customers save money once energy prices increase.
