I'm on the Outside Looking In

By Alex B. RSS Thu, January 24, 2013

As of Tuesday, January 22, 2013, I have resumed my duties as a Children's Librarian with the Free Library of Philadelphia.  It's been over four years since I've served in this capacity.  It was awesome observing story time this week and can't wait until next week when I take over the reins of this essential service.  What I've discovered is how cool a child's instant gratification is yet how much I miss the grunt that stands for "I appreciate all that you do for me" that teens give us adults.  Philbrick Hall has begun an awesome journey in serving its teen customers and has made more strides in the last six months than anyone could have imagined.  In partnership with Teen Tuesdays, a full slate of programs and events geared towards teenagers is now being offered; this is what serving teens is all about.  I will miss it, yet I have a story time to prepare.
