On Sunday, October 26, the Grand Lobby of the Parkway Central Library transformed into a musical time machine.  Local duo Soprano Meets Contrabass (opera Soprano Ana María Díaz and composer/bassist Alan Lewine), with guest percussionist Shawn Hennesy, chauffeured patrons on a whirlwind tour of over 800 years in music in less than 2 hours.

This special pop-up program employed the conservatory-quality books and scores available at the of the Music Department, and was a collaboration between the Free Library and the group’s label, Owlsong Productions.

Visit the Central Library on December 20 for another free concert featuring Ana María Díaz! She'll be performing love songs and Christmas songs from the Spanish Baroque.
