Best Teen Reads of 2014

By Joel N. RSS Tue, December 2, 2014

In October, Teen Services Librarian Erin H. organized a teen book blast at the Philadelphia City Institute. The Book Blast was a rapid-fire presentation of 50 great teen reads from 2014 for teens and parents, and librarians Rachel F. and Joel N. joined Ms. Erin in sharing their top recommendations. From retellings of the Wizard of Oz where Dorothy is the villain and nonfiction about transgender teens to anguished high school romances and gritty stories of drugs and abuse, the presentation featured books for all kinds of young adult readers. In addition, the librarians gave away many books they were featuring in the presentation. To share this Book Blast with a wider community, Rachel F. compiled these best teen reads of 2014 into this booklist. What was your favorite teen book so far this year? Tell us in the comments.
