We hope you're having a great summer so far! At the Free Library, we have been enjoying all the fun activities that are part of our Summer of Wonder 2015 Summer Reading program. To celebrate the spirit of creativity and exploration, we've created eight weeks of fun and engaging activities for children, teens, and families! We're already through our third week and have unlocked fun activities, links, and videos for topics including Magnets, Balloon Racers, and Illusions! If you haven't already, you can sign up the children in your life for our Summer Reading program, either online or in your local neighborhood library.
If you happen to visit Parkway Central, don't forget to take a walk over to The Oval for one of their many storytimes and other family friendly events throughout the summer.
This month's Early Literacy calendar and links, compiled by Free Library of Philadelphia's children's librarians, is once again full of great suggestions that parents and caregivers can engage in with their children to help nurture and develop the five necessary Early Literacy skills of Reading, Writing, Talking, Singing, and Playing.
