August 2015 Early Literacy Calendar

Whew! Hot enough for ya?

Why not stop in at your local neighborhood library for one of our many Children’s Events and Activities? Or maybe add another book to your Summer Reading tally? Best of all, we have air conditioning : )

On the days when it isn't hazy, hot, and humid, try to take in a free, fun, family friendly event over at The Oval before the summer ends.

And here's a fun song you can sing (with easy to read-along lyrics) with your little ones that sums up all the great things about summer!

This month's Early Literacy calendar and links, compiled by Free Library of Philadelphia's children's librarians, is once again full of great suggestions that parents and caregivers can engage in with their children to help nurture and develop the five necessary Early Literacy skills of Reading, Writing, Talking, Singing, and Playing.
