Bringing Literacy to Life – Professional Development Workshops at the Library!

By Sarah S. RSS Thu, October 1, 2015

Are you an educator or a parent? Would you like to find out how you can infuse fun, interactive literacy activities into every day with your children? Then Bringing Literacy to Life is for you!

Beginning in October, the Free Library of Philadelphia will be offering a new series of continuing education workshops called Bringing Literacy to Life. These will take place in different locations around the city, instructed by some of our children’s librarians who have earned their certification through the Pennsylvania Quality Assurance System (PQAS).

Early childhood educators will be able to earn continuing education credits for attending these workshops, but anyone who would like to learn more about infusing early literacy practice in their work with children is welcome. Registration for attendees who want PQAS credits will take place on www.pakeys.org, and other attendees are encouraged to contact the Library's Office of Public Service Support at 215-686-5372.
