By Becky F. RSS Tue, June 20, 2017

You may know him as the recipient of multiple Theodor Seuss Geisel Awards. You may know him as the author of such great books as The Watermelon Seed, Good Night Owl, and Number One Sam. Now you can add "Free Library of Philadelphia Summer of Wonder artist" to the list of ways that you know Greg Pizzoli.

As an author, illustrator, and screen printer, Greg is multi-talented. His work has been featured in The New York Times and 3x3 Magazine, and is now on display in every neighborhood library throughout Philadelphia!

Greg custom-designed the 2017 Summer of Wonder poster as well as the stickers that children receive as prizes for participating in this year's events and activities. He’s also making visits to neighborhood libraries across Philly to help kick off our summer reading program—check out our calendar to see if Greg is coming to an event near you!

A Philadelphia resident and an enthusiastic library card holder, Greg is a perfect fit as the Free Library’s Summer of Wonder artist. His lively book illustrations, which "ooze personality", as Kirkus Reviews has described, come to life in this year's poster. Truly, his art encourages viewers to discover, explore, and read, just as the Summer of Wonder program itself does. Take a look at all of Greg’s books in this catalog book list and check one out today.

Happy reading, Philadelphia!
