The Free Library is pleased to announce that a number of new databases and electronic resources are available to us now through POWERLibrary. Please take a moment to try these out!

Business Source Premier (the Business Searching Interface) - this database contains the same information as Business Source Premier that we have had for years, but it has a different search interface. The basic search page has selections to search by company and industry, and options to browse company profiles and country reports.

Regional Business News- Regional Business News incorporates 75 business journals, newspapers, and newswires covering all metropolitan and rural areas within the United States. Included in this database are Arizona Business, Business North Carolina, Crain's New York Business (and other Crain Communications editions), Des Moines Business Record, Enterprise Salt Lake City, Fort Worth Business Press, Orange County Business Journal, Westchester County Business Journal, etc. (from the EBSCO description)

Kids Search- a search interface for students k-8 to search our EBSCO children's databases and content. It includes articles, the American Heritage Children's Dictionary, Funk and Wagnalls New World Encyclopedia, and an image/video search. It also includes a Teacher Resources section that allows educators to search across ERIC and the Professional Development Collection.

TeacherReference Center (TRC)- contains articles from over 260 titles of the most popular teacher and administrator trade journals.

LISTA (Library, Information Science & Technology Abstracts)- indexes over 600 periodicals and books related to the field of information science.

NextReads- Sign up to receive periodic newsletters listing new releases and old favorites in specific genres. Genres include: Inspirational Fiction, Mystery, Biography and Memoirs, Horror, and many more!

streaMed Patient Portal- this resource is a consumer health and patient education video database. It contains videos describing conditions and diseases. Want to know more about McNabb's ACL injury? There is a video describing what the ACL is, how it gets torn, the anatomy of the knee, other knee injuries, and treatments.

All of these resources are now available at all FLP locations and to home users with library cards EXCEPT streaMed. streaMed is only available to users at any of our library branches. You can access them all by going to our Advanced Search [link to AdvSearch page] interface from any page on our website.
