Ravens on the Rooftop: A Summer Celebration Atop the Parkway Central Library!

By Alexa L. RSS Wed, June 5, 2019

Summer is in full swing: temperatures are high, days are long, school is out for break, and the Ravens are on the rooftop! Join the Raven Society, the Free Library’s community of young supporters, for our annual summer fundraiser, celebrating the start of the season on Parkway Central Library’s amazing rooftop terrace. You’ll enjoy an open bar with Yards brews, snacks, and beautiful city views, all while supporting the Free Library!

This summer is also the 50th anniversary of Woodstock, the infamous outdoor music festival that took place in upstate New York in the summer of 1969. Deemed "three days of peace and music," Woodstock, which featured 32 performing acts, was a turning point in the history of popular music and counterculture movement. If you’re interested in learning more about Woodstock and its musical revolution, visit the Music Department at Parkway Central Library, or check out these collections from the Free Library.

This year’s event will feature iconic throwback tracks to honor Woodstock and embody its spirit of peace and open arms. As always, all are welcome to join this special fundraiser, so invite your friends to kick off summer with the Free Library at Ravens on the Rooftop: Peace, Love, and Libraries!
