Money Mondays at the Free Library!

Many Philadelphians are struggling to feel secure and confident when it comes to controlling personal finances. Especially in these current times of uncertainty, financial empowerment and literacy are vital to achieving goals, maintaining preparedness for unexpected events, and feeling comfortable with your financial status!

Through Money Mondays, the Free Library of Philadelphia’s Division of Cultural and Civic Engagement, in partnership with the Urban Affairs Coalition and Councilman Allan Domb, is providing this essential information to those looking to enhance their financial knowledge.

Over four weeks in April and May, this series will cover important topics like:

In "Getting Loans", this series’ first session from April 20, the presenter discussed credit and obtaining a loan. Many people may not know that bad credit can impact one’s ability to secure a job! The presenter also informed listeners that your current debt-to-income ratios can impact your applications for new loans. During the "Debt Management" workshop, we learned about how to pay down high-interest debts, like credit cards, while keeping an eye on future financial goals like saving to buy a home.

This series of financial empowerment workshops are available to anyone using Crowdcast. Past episodes from April 20 and April 27 can be replayed, and remember to tune in to upcoming episodes on Monday, May 4 and 11 at 5:30 p.m.!
