Inaugural Philadelphia Book Festival a Smash Hit

By Communications Office RSS Mon, April 23, 2007
If you were in the vicinity of The Parkway over the weekend, then you saw firsthand the enthusiastic crowds that came out for the First Annual Philadelphia Book Festival. Roughly 25,000 people enjoyed author readings, lectures, panel discussions, live music, children's theater, and a bustling street fair of literary exhibitors and independent authors. The positive feedback we received from so many Festival attendees affirmed the importance of all the hard work that Library staff and volunteers put into the planning and execution of this incredible two-day event. We are thrilled that so many came out to participate in this Philadelphia milestone, and if you were unable to make it this year, we hope to see you in 2008!
