Carol Anderson won the National Book Critics Circle Award for White Rage, an “extraordinarily timely and urgent” (New York Times Book Review) primer on the ongoing opposition to Black progress in America since 1865. She is the Charles Howard Candler Professor and Chair of African American Studies at Emory University and a Guggenheim Fellow for Constitutional Studies. Her previous books include Bourgeois Radicals and Eyes Off the Prize. In One Person, No Vote, Anderson exposes the racial effects of the 2013 Supreme Court decision that gutted the Voting Rights Act of 1965, and follows those who are fighting to restore the right of enfranchisement to all Americans.
