Philadelphia Press Spotlight: The Shoutflower
Virtual
Join us and the Literature Department for our third annual Philadelphia Press Spotlight. We'll take an in-depth dive into the local journal The Shoutflower with its editors, Emilia Joan Hamra and Edward Jordan Barger and contributors who will read selected works from the Fall 2020 issue: Angelo Colavita, Matthew Ryan Shelton, Gnaomi Siemens, Kailey Tedesco and Joanna C. Valente.
In the meantime, check out this list of selected library titles curated by The Shoutflower for you. The Shoutflower is currently accepting submissions for the next issue until February 28th, 2021.
Anthology once meant a gathering of flowers. We gather the ones that shout.
The Shoutflower is a vision of gritty romance. Knights and boxers and mystics and prison tattooists and tragic lovers and brave artists who do not hide behind their medium. We celebrate those who walk the world with all the fearlessness and delirium of someone dreaming. We believe that art should be beautiful, but not quietly beautiful. We believe in beauty that screams.
We are a print journal because we want to eat your dreams. We want them tangible. We want them to have a spine.
Register here to receive a meeting link on February 8th, 2021.
