In part one, the City of Philadelphia, Department of Commerce - Office of Business Services will discuss the necessary permits, licenses, and business structuring activities required to do business in the city of Philadelphia, as well as some information about the services the Office of Business Services can provide to assist small business owners in Philadelphia.

The City of Philadelphia, Department of Commerce - Office of Business Services is the first line of contact for Philadelphia business owners and entrepreneurs. Business Services Managers provide outreach and education to small businesses throughout Philadelphia. They work one on one to help businesspersons navigate City systems and connect to financial and technical assistance resources. Business Services Managers also work to build organizational capacity with business associations and community organizations to revitalize neighborhood commercial districts.
