Meet Opal Lee
Children's Department at Parkway Central Library
Join us for a special visit from educator and activist Opal Lee, known as "the Grandmother of Juneteenth" for her efforts to see Juneteenth recognized as a national holiday. She will be reading her book Junteenth: a Children's Story, with autographed copies available for purchase. This program will take place in the Montgomery Auditorium on the ground floor.
This program is in partnership with Unity Unlimited and Councilmember Katherine Gilmore Richardson.
