Panel Discussion: Activism in Philadelphia's Chinatown
Virtual
In this panel discussion, members of activist groups past and present will talk about the history and future of activism in Philadelphia’s Chinatown. Mary Yee of Yellow Seeds, Debbie Wei of Asian Americans United, and Kaia Chau and Taryn Flaherty of Students for the Preservation of Chinatown will share their perspectives about history of development in Philadelphia’s Chinatown. How does a diverse community figure out what is best? What does it mean to do that with outside pressure and/or collaboration from the city government and other groups? Come to hear old movement stories and new ones, and to learn about various activist strategies for resistance and coalition building.
