Philadelphia City Institute
Join Penn’s Village and the Free Library of Philadelphia for Penn’s Village Presents, a free film series at the Philadelphia City Institute Library. Discussion will follow each screening. On the second Mondays of the month (with the exception of October which will be held on the first Monday), we’ll explore the work of Orson Welles through a six-screening retrospective.
The film Journey Into Fear (1943) will be screening today. Norman Foster directs this picture, but Welles is everywhere: writer, producer, and star. Featuring Mercury Theater stalwarts Joseph Cotten, Ruth Warrick, Agnes Moorehead in this spy thriller with Nazi agents and femme fatale Dolores del Rio, Welles’ girlfriend at the time.
Registration is not required and these films are free and open to the public.
