Join Penn’s Village and the Free Library of Philadelphia for Penn’s Village Presents, a free film series at the Philadelphia City Institute Library. Discussion will follow each screening. On the second Mondays of the month (with the exception of October which will be held on the first Monday), we’ll explore the work of Orson Welles through a six-screening retrospective.

The film The Hundred-Foot Journey (2014)​​​ will be screening today. Lasse Hallström directs this comedy-drama with Helen Mirren, Om Puri, Manish Dayal, and Charlotte Le Bon about the cultural and business rivalry between a Muslim Indian restaurant and the classic French one with a Michelin star across the street. “It's an enjoyable film about passion: the passion for food, passion for culture but most of all, passion for life,” writes Richard Crouse.

Registration is not required and these films are free and open to the public.
