Policing the Police: Solidarity with Communities Against Police Violence
Lucien E. Blackwell West Philadelphia Regional Library
Join us for a community conversation on the recent settlement agreement awarding $9.25 million to protestors and West Philly residents who were victims of police violence during the 2020 peaceful protests for racial justice. We will discuss what this historic win means for our communities and the impact of police brutality and militarism. Plaintiff Amelia Carter's documentary, “Testimony: 52nd St. and the Invisible Violence of UPenn” will also be screened at the event. Together, we will reflect on accountability and next steps.
The event is free, but RSVP is recommended.
