Bad Habits Film Series | Ida (2013)
Education Philosophy and Religion Department at Parkway Central Library
Join the Free Library of Philadelphia's Education, Philosophy, and Religion Department for a screening of Paweł Pawlikowski's 2013 film, Ida. This film imagines a young woman on the verge of taking Catholic vows whose plans change when she discovers the secret of her family heritage.
This event is free to the public. Please register for this event at ida.eventbrite.com. The screening will take place in Room 108, on the 1st floor of the Parkway Central Library, accessible through the Wood Street entrance behind the building.
This film is the last in our Summer Film Series. Come along with us this summer as we alternate between two film programs: In Black Luminaries we are showing films about writers and scholars of color who were influenced by philosophy, psychology, and religion and had a significant impact on, while not always being regarded as primary contributors to, these fields. In Bad Habits we will show a triptych of international films from multiple decades that examine the lives and passions of nuns as they wrestle with their faith, femininity, and identities.
