The Independence Business Alliance is the LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce for the Greater Philadelphia Region. The IBA serves the LGBTQ+ and business communities of: Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties in PA; Mercer, Burlington, Camden, Gloucester and Salem counties in New Jersey; and New Castle County in Delaware. The IBA is a membership-based business advocacy organization dedicated to making the Philadelphia region an influential and diverse LGBTQ+ business community with an impact on economic development, equal rights and policy issues.
TransWork is an inclusive program designed to address economic disparity in the transgender community by connecting job seekers and entrepreneurs to a network of supportive employers and business partners. Launched in 2018, it is the first program of its kind to be run out of a chamber of commerce in the United States. Since its inception the program has grown to have 1,000+ Job-Seekers, 120+ Entrepreneurs, and 350+ TransWork Employers! Transwork resources and programs include a job bank of open positions from allied and inclusive employers, job fairs for trans and non-binary job-seekers, job preparation seminars, workshops, support for entrepreneurs with LGBTBE Certification, and networking opportunities.
