Comix Club with Molly Dwyer and Nate Garcia's Contemporary Cartoon Fiction Picture Circus
Art Department at Parkway Central Library
Comix Club meets monthly in the Art Department, on Parkway Central Library's 2nd floor and this one will be a special edition where we'll we'll be treated to an exhibit of artwork and reading by Philly cartoonists Molly Dwyer and Nate Garcia. The exhibit will be on view throughout September in the Art Department any time the library is open.
As usual, we'll provide blank panel pages and drawing supplies for Comix Club attendees as well as our Philadelphia Comics Collection of work by local comix artists, which is always available for use in the Art Department any time we are open. Please be aware that the content of many of these comics is mature and graphic in nature, and so readers must be 18 and up. If you are a Philadelphia-based artist with a comic of your own, or have any local comics you’d like to donate to PCC, feel free to bring them to our meet-ups! We are also gathering comics made during these meetings for a future Comix Club zine.
Please use this registration form to take part in this free after-hours program as Parkway Central Library hours are still currently limited to 9am-5pm on weekdays and we'd like to know how many people to prepare seating for. We'll welcome those registered at the library's accessible entrance behind the building on Wood St. and 20th St. at 5:30pm. Molly and Nate will read at 6pm.
