The Time That Remains Film Screening

Join us for a film screening in recognition of the UN International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. The Time That Remains (2009) by Palestinian director Elia Suleiman is a subtly comical drama that recounts the saga of the filmmaker’s family during events surrounding the founding of Israel in 1948 through the 2009. Runtime: 109 minutes Language, Arabic, English, Hebrew (subtitled)
Following the screening, we will host a Q&A with Mohannad Ghawanmeh. Mohannad is the Executive Director of Al-Bustan Seeds of Culture, as well as a long time scholar, cineaste, and educator. Mohannad co-founded the Twin Cities Arab Film Festival, curated the first editions of the Arab American National Museum’s film festival and the Minneapolis/St. Paul Italian Film Festival, and curated the series Melnitz Movies at University of California, Los Angeles.
This event is hosted with the Free Library's Art and Literature Department at Parkway Central Library, 1901 Vine Street. The screening will be held in the Skyline Room, on the 4th floor. Light refreshments typical of the region will be provided, so please RSVP on our registration form so we order enough food!
