Film Screening & Discussion: The Command Center to Bring Women Home
Field Teen Center at Parkway Central Library
Join us for a screening of The Command Center to Bring Women Home, followed by a discussion with Starr Granger, Tamika Bell, and Paulette Carrington, who star in the documentary, and moderated by Philadelphia poet Trapeta Mayson.
As described by PBS: "Through a collaborative writing process with filmmakers, three women bring to life “The Command Center to Bring Women Home,” an imagined space run by formerly incarcerated women for those with nowhere else to turn but to each other, a place where mothers can reunite and heal with their children, and women are able to hold and comfort one another."
This event is for teens ages 12-18, and groups are welcome! Please contact the Field Teen Center directly at teencenter@freelibrary.org or 215-686-5395 for information about group accomodation.
Teen programming at the Field Teen Center is made possible in part by grants from the Philadelphia City Institute Board of Managers and the Independence Foundation.
