"Can Robots Care for Grandma?"
This is a Zoom program sponsored by Central Senior Services
In Japan, Italy and many other nations, the population of older adults has increased rapidly as society struggles to catch up. Who will care for all these vulnerable people? Some countries have imported large number of immigrants to help respond to this important challenge. Japan has chosen a different strategy. As a society, Japan has invested huge sums in an effort to develop a generation of robots who can actually help to care for frail older adults. How is this initiative going and what can Americans learn from what the Japanese have done? Dr. Jerry Jacobs, a Professor of Sociology at the University of Pennsylvania has followed this effort closely for many years.
On Wednesday, April 17th at 11:00 A.M., Dr. Jacobs will give a Zoom talk on this important subject for Central Senior Services.
