Celebrating Printmaker Chen Lok Lee: Recent Gift to the Free Library
Print and Picture Collection at Parkway Central Library
Join us on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 in the Print and Picture Collection to view prints by artist Chen Lok Lee. Born in China in 1927, Lee studied at the Canton Public Art College and Hong Kong University before moving to the United States in 1959. Lee earned an MFA from Temple University's Tyler School of Art, where he studied with Richard Callner and Romas Viesulas. Lee was a Professor of Printmaking at Moore College of Art & Design for over 20 years. Since his death in 2020, his family launched the Chen Lok Lee Legacy Project to share his work and keep his memory alive.
In 2023, Chen Lok Lee's family made a generous donation of 10 lithographs by Lee. These prints and more will be on display in the Print and Picture Collection on Wednesday, May 15. Drop in anytime between 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
